Heather Hans Creative
oil and acrylic painting; pencil, charcoal, and ink drawing

Currently, I am interested in the intersection between art and craft: Who decides what counts as art or craft? Are they really that different? Or can they coexist?

I am a firm believer that everyone has the potential to be creative and that art is one of the gifts of being human. I like to create paintings that use vivid colors and movement to express abstract feelings and thoughts. I also like to experiment with unusual materials in my paintings (like glitter) in an effort to expand the definitions of “fine art.” In addition, I like to do detailed drawings and other works on paper. Ultimately, I hope my art will bring joy and catharsis to others.

Artist Bio

I studied fine art and art history at Wake Forest University, and I work as an instructional designer in higher education. My primary medium is painting in oil and acrylic, but I also enjoy found-object sculpture, drawing/illustration, and paper arts. Someday, I would love to learn ceramics, if I can come to terms with the unwieldy nature of clay. A Winston-Salem native, I live in Mebane, NC, with my husband and our cats.
