Beth Hill
Beth Hill Art Studio
oil and acrylic painting, mixed media
As an artist, I am inspired by God’s creation of life, the animal kingdom, the out-of-doors, and nature that surrounds us in this beautiful world. I have many fond childhood memories, including opportunities to be creative and “make things” as well as numerous pets, attributing to my care and compassion for animals. After a formal education in art, I discovered a great love of painting, explaining my choice of media (oil paints, acrylic paints, and mixed media) and subject matter (animal images). I enjoy the challenge of representing various textures, such as fur and feathers, through loose brushstrokes and experimental paint applications, sometimes using expressionistic or non-representational colors. I am moved by looking into the eyes of an animal and often purposely create compositions that appear as “portraits”. It is my desire that each viewer of my works of art will make a connection with the personalities and peculiarities of the images while enjoying the shapes, colors, and patterns. Whether someone’s view is only for a moment or an extended look, I hope that it will bring them some sort of pleasure and serenity in this action-addicted and chaotic world.

She is quoted as saying, “I am inspired by God’s beautiful creation and creatures. It is my desire that those who view my paintings will simply enjoy the personalities and peculiar characteristics of the images as well as the shapes, colors, and patterns. Whether one views one of my paintings for only a moment, or takes an extended look, I hope it will bring them some sort of pleasure and serenity in this action-addicted and chaotic world.”
