Oil painting

I have lived in Burlington NC for 8 years. I have lived in NC for about half of my life. I have been consistently been painting now for about 30 years. I prefer oil as my medium. I paint a variety of subjects such as still life, flowers, and landscapes, but painting portraits is my favorite.
I taught in the past while living in Laurinburg NC. I taught both privately and was hired by a retirement community to teach beginning and intermediate painting classes. I worked with memory care residents for five years before moving to Alamance County.
I also worked as jeweler. For fun I took a course in cloisonné enameling and have many years of enjoying that form of art.

Artist Bio

Marilyn was born in Dallas, Texas and lived there until she moved to NC in 1980. She lived in Mexico for about 5 years, so you will see that influence in her work. That’s when she started her painting career before returning to NC. She had exhibits in Mexico, Austin and Dallas, TX, and in Laurinburg and Southern Pines NC. She was a member of the Aberdeen Artist League
